The NTSB Safety Assessment

The National Transportation Safety Board is a large aerospace industry that has affected millions across America. As stated by the NTSB (n.d.), they are an independent federal agency charged by Congress with investigating every civil aviation accident in the United States and significant events in the other modes of transportation—cars, boats, planes, etc. Regarding their impact on the aviation industry, the NTSB plays a valuable role when it comes to accident investigation. When accidents occur, they work directly with the FAA, where they can “determine the probable causes of the accidents and events they investigate and issue safety recommendations aimed at preventing future occurrences” (NTSB, n.d., Who We Are and What We Do section). With the NTSB being capable of providing such valuable intel into the aviation industry, it allows accidents that are determined to be analyzed further so that these events do not take place in the future.
